Who's Funding Idaho's Prop 1? A Count of Every Individual Donor
Published October 29, 2026 · Sources: Idaho Secretary of State
As of October 28, 2026, 3,854 people have given to the main campaign for Proposition 1, and 224 people have given to the main campaign against it. Those numbers come from every donation the two campaigns have reported to the Idaho Secretary of State.
The campaign for Prop 1 has raised $5.80 million since its first donation in January 2025; the campaign against it has raised $4.65 million since July 2026. Below is who that money came from: individuals and organizations, how much each person gave, Idaho and out of state, and how much both sides, plus other groups, have spent.
Individual donors, by how much they gave
Each person is counted once, by their total. On the side for Prop 1, 3,440 of 3,854 individual donors gave less than $1,000 in total, and 10 gave $100,000 or more (45% of individual dollars). On the side against it, 142 of 224 gave less than $1,000, and 7 gave $100,000 or more (78% of individual dollars).

Individuals vs. companies and organizations
The state labels every donor as a person or not. “Companies and organizations” covers everyone who isn't a person: businesses, churches, PACs, trusts and nonprofits.

- Companies & organizations 28$1,453,49425%

Money raised and spent, and when
Both campaigns have filed complete reports through September 30, 2026. Reports covering October are due after the election, so what's listed for October so far is partial: mostly large donations and expenses filed early. Comparing the two sides is fairest through September 30, 2026.
| For Prop 1 | Against Prop 1 | |

“Other groups” are filers besides the two campaigns that reported ads, mailers or signs about Prop 1 and said which side they were on. Their donations to the campaigns are already counted in “raised,” so only their own spending appears here. Another $32,286 was filed without saying which side: Right to Life of Idaho PAC ($17,635), Ada County Republican Central Committee ($13,775), Lucas Cayler ($858), Teton County Democratic Party ($18).Ada County Republicans' side-less entries match their “oppose” entries line for line (same vendors, amounts and day), so they appear to be the same purchases filed twice.

Net of refunds. Bars share one scale across both lists. Ties are listed alphabetically. Individuals' donor pages aren't published; companies and committees link to theirs. Notes on who is behind a company quote its filings with the Idaho Secretary of State's business registry (an annual report names at least one member or manager, not necessarily all of them) or, where a company isn't registered in Idaho, what the campaign's own reports show.
How we counted
- Source: every donation and expense reported to the Idaho Secretary of State through Sunshine, through October 28, 2026. Each transaction is counted once, even when a filing lists it on more than one line.
- “The campaign” for each side is the committee that spent nearly all of its targeted money on Prop 1: Idahoans United for Women and Families Inc. for, and Too Extreme for Idaho against.
- Totals cover each campaign from its first report, which for the campaign for Prop 1 means 2025 as well as 2026.
- Refunds are subtracted. The campaign against Prop 1 has refunded $13,000 to 4 donors. The campaign for Prop 1 has refunded $156 to 1 donors.
- Donors are matched by name, so a couple filing together counts as one donor, and the same person filed under two spellings would count twice. Individual donor counts are close but not exact.
- Idaho's filings don't include donors' occupations or employers, so individuals are grouped by how much they gave.
- A few records in the state's export are garbled (stray commas in addresses). We repair what we can; the effect on any total here is under $100.
