Amends existing law to provide that certain records regarding coroners shall be exempt from disclosure and to provide that next-of-kin shall have access to certain reports prepared by a coroner.
This legislation exempts certain sensitive information from public records requests, similar to exemptions for law enforcement, to protect medicolegal death investigations. Exempted records could be released with consent of a parent or legal guardian.
