Relates to the appropriation to the State Board of Education for community colleges for fiscal year 2025.
This appropriation to Community Colleges provides enhancements to the FY 2025 maintenance budget and includes funding for operational capacity enhancements at the four institutions, POST training capacity enhancement at the College of Eastern Idaho and College of Western Idaho, the 2% CEC and a net reduction of $99,800 for nondiscretionary adjustments.

Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding an optional retirement program.
This legislation allows employees hired by the Office of the State Board of Education on or after July 1, 2024 who have credited service in the public retirement system of Idaho (PERSI) to make a one time irrevocable election to remain a member of that retirement program. Currently this opportunity is only available to new employees who are fully vested prior to their hire date.

This is the FY 2025 Maintenance Appropriation for the State Board of Education. This bill includes appropriations to Agricultural Research and Extension Services, College and Universities, Community Colleges, the Office of the State Board of Education, Health Education Programs, Career Technical Education, Idaho Public Television, Special Programs, Department of Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Charter School Commission. The appropriation includes standard adjustments for benefit costs, inflationary adjustments, statewide cost allocation, and change in employee compensation.
