Amends existing law to remove a provision regarding emergency interim successors to legislators.
The purpose of this legislation is to change the name of the Department of Disaster Relief and Civil Defense to the Bureau of Homeland Security and to eliminate outdated and unused language that required duplicative information to be recorded in the House and Senate journals.

Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding how vacancies are filled.
This legislation will amend section 59-904A regarding how vacancies are filled in the Idaho legislature. With this change the number of nominees submitted from the district to the governor will change from three to one.

Proposing an amendment to the Idaho Constitution to set the number of legislative districts at 35 and to set the number of state senators at 35.

Amends existing law to provide that the Legislature shall adjourn by a certain date and to provide an exception.
The purpose of this legislation is to establish some uniformity to the legislative session and process. By identifying a "not to exceed" sine die date, it will help the Legislature to be deliberate and timely as we do the people's business.
