This resolution's purpose is intended to support the Native American heritage within our state. Many schools use Native American names as a source of pride and honor. This resolution encourages the proper education of these names, imagery, and symbols to align with those positions of Native American pride and honor. The goal is to educate not eradicate.

Stating findings of the Legislature and recognizing missing and murdered indigenous persons as a crisis in Idaho and designating May 5 as a day of awareness.
The purpose of this resolution is to recognize and raise awareness about the crisis that states, including Idaho, are facing with the issue of missing and murdered indigenous persons by designating May 5 as a day of awareness and supporting efforts to research the cause and explore solutions through collaboration between the five federally recognized tribes within Idaho, and those entities who share criminal jurisdiction.
