Currently the language used in Title 46 does not reflect the gender diversity within the Idaho Military Division. The proposed change would amend the word “men” throughout Chapter 2.

Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding the governing board and to provide for eligibility requirements.

This proposed change to Idaho Code Section 46-805, simplifies provisions regarding the Idaho Youth ChalleNGe Academy (“IDYCA”). Currently, Idaho Code Section 46-805(2)(b) requires the Governor to select and appoint the members of the IDYCA Governing Board without input from the Idaho Military Division Adjutant General. The proposed change will allow the Adjutant General to vet and nominate individuals for the Governing Board.
