Amends existing law to revise a provision regarding enforcement.

LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO Sixty-eighth Legislature Second Regular Session - 2026 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE BILL NO. 548 BY STATE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE AN ACT1 RELATING TO THE IDAHO SAFE BOATING ACT; AMENDING SECTION 67-7028, IDAHO2 CODE, TO REVISE A PROVISION REGARDING ENFORCEMENT; AND DECLARING AN3 EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.4

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:5

SECTION 1. That Section 67-7028, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby6 amended to read as follows:7 67-7028. ENFORCEMENT. The sheriffs and deputy sheriffs of the respec-8 tive counties shall be primarily responsible for the enforcement of this9 chapter and in the exercise of their authority may, upon reasonable suspi-10 cion that a violation has occurred, stop and board any vessel subject to law.11

SECTION 2. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby12 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after13 July 1, 2026.14
