Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding a special inquiry judge proceeding and the authority of the Attorney General.

This legislation allows the Attorney General to request a special inquiry proceeding from the judiciary to investigate crime and corruption. The purpose of this legislation is to equip the Attorney General, who has jurisdiction to investigate elected county officials, with a tool already used by county prosecuting attorneys to investigate crime and corruption.
