InresponsetothedenialofIdaho’spetitiontotheU.S.FishandWildlifeService(USFWS)andU.S.Department of Interior (DOI) to delist grizzly bears in the lower 48 states, this memorial asks for the following: (a) calls upon Congress to act promptly by delisting grizzly bears in the lower 48 states from the Endangered Species Act; (b) calls upon the DOI and USFWS to reverse the determination on Idaho’s delisting petition by relying on federal law, policy, and science, and to proceed with delisting of grizzly bear in the lower 48 states; and (c) acknowledges that without state and local management, grizzly bear population recovery and conservation would not be successful.
