Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding possession of a firearm or other deadly weapon on school grounds.

This legislation allows school employees who have an enhanced concealed weapons license, and are authorized by the local school board, to carry a firearm or other weapon on school grounds. The conditions and requirements for the employee to carry will be set by school board policy, and includes collaboration with local law enforcement. It does not allow students of the school to carry firearms on school property, even if they qualify for an enhanced carry permit. It also requires that the decision to authorize personnel to carry be included in the school district or charter school’s annual safety plan.
