The Youth Mental Health Prevention Act protects patients under eighteen (18) years of age from the harmful effects of conversion therapy and provides that a licensed, professional counselor shall not engage in the practice of conversion therapy. "Conversion therapy" means any practices or treatments that seek to change an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity.
