COUNTY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This bill creates opportunities for older displaced workers needing new skills to help them compete for employment. It permits counties to offer property tax exemptions to businesses and individuals who contribute to county-level Senior Workforce Development Funds, which provide assistance to residents over the age of 55 seeking education at an accredited post-secondary institution.
